TMTG 084: The Muay Thai Guys GO LIVE!

That's right, baby. We're live. Paul and I have been doing The Muay Thai Guys Podcast for 84 episodes now! Throughout the years, we've done the podcast from everywhere from Thailand to New York. Tons of shit has been happening. We've met incredible people in so many different countries and trained with so many different nak muays from all across the world, so we figured that we want MORE!

We love meeting new people, especially the passionate Nak Muays out there, so we figured that we would have our podcasts be live so we could interact with more of you sexy nak muays and nak muayettes! Besides just hanging with you awesome people, we talk about what's been going on in our lives.

We cover stuff like:

  • Traveling to Poland. Paul being reminded of his roots.
  • England Love.
  • Training in England with Trainor at K Star Legacy Gym. (Plus a fight breakdown of Paul's last Lion Fight performance)</li>
  • Training with Double K’s Charlie Peters.
  • Time spent documenting with K1ANOOP (interviews on the growth of Muay Thai and Kickboxing, variance in Amateur/Pro standards, differences in American/UK Muay Thai)
  • Three flight delays, missing luggage, cancer screens, funerals, last-minute decisions, and the Reaper reborn (previously being paralyzed by issues outside of his control but now taking control in life).
  • And much, much MORE!
Life can hit us hard, but...But Muay Thai, bitch. We hit it back harder.

TMTG 083: "Shortcuts" To Becoming a Muay Thai Champion

Lets get right to the point: There are no real "shortcuts" to becoming a champion.

That being said, the "shortcuts" we're discussing here are ways to efficiently and proactively pursue greatness by following the lead of past and present champions. By studying the habits, characteristics and attributes of elite level fighters, we can better understand the amount of work, sacrifice and discipline it takes to get a nice shiny belt strapped around your waist.

In Paul's recent article "The 3 Shortcuts To Becoming A Champion", he dissects the work ethic and practices of champion fighters. We take the lead from that article but dive even deeper into the subject in this week's podcast:

TMTG 082: Overcoming Training (and Life) Obstacles

Life has a way of testing us every now and again by throwing various challenges our way. It's up to us to decide how we react to these challenges. We can either play victim or use it to our advantage.
In this week's podcast, Paul and I break down the benefits of obstacles and tips for overcoming them, including:
  • How a resilient mindset is key to success in any endeavor you choose to pursue.
  • Why failure isn't an option unless you allow it to be.
  • How we got hit with a tropical storm during a Muay Thai Retreat in Costa and used that to our advantage.
  • Why challenges and obstacles are so important for developing character.
  • Paul's story of his "Fast and Furious: Thailand Edition" that came from an unforeseen challenge.
  • How you can still find some good when dealing with challenges outside of training, even when it's the death of a loved one.
  • Why developing the fighters heart is critical for growth as a human being.
  • And much, much more
